There is a sociopath class arising due to corporate mentality and, perhaps, a long series of biochemical brain damage. The abuse that passes as ordinary life stateside is also a factor.
How can so few see this?
Certainly there must be sociopathic liberals — tree spikers, perhaps — the vast majority of such creatures gravitate to the right wing, conservative end of the social spectrum. Sociopaths are prone to criminality and not to helping others, which is the baseline distinction between conservatives and liberals. It is not a surprise that the conscienceless, inhumane humanoid shapes among us cluster to the right. It is to be expected.
Liberals , however, have a fair-play hang-up that causes them continually to trust that Lucy won’t pull the football away. She always does, and will; she must. It is her character.
Allowing sociopaths and psychopaths to mingle with society and participate its institutions is simply asking for trouble. We must identify and isolate them for society’s sake, or their cancer will kill us all as surely as unchecked, untreated cancer always does.
Look around.

Difference between sociopaths and psychopaths is largely one of degree; psychopaths will kill and don’t care about keeping the human act up. Some take off the mask of humanity altogether.
Dick Cheney is a psychopath, as witness his method of “hunting”: He shoots caged and tethered birds by the hundreds. It gets him hard. He seems clearly to be a sadist, which is standard for psychopaths. But he is also profoundly childish, as witness his embarrassing phony stamps and scrawls on classified documents, which used imaginary categories, or his enjoyment of the ridiculous nickname Darth Cheney. He is an infantile psycho.
He is currently on a tour to promote his memoir of the Junta years, defending his war crimes proudly and shamelessly parading other crimes before us with brazen disregard. One is vividly reminded of the moment when a reporter told him that the majority of the American people were against the war. “So?” he said. “Fuck ’em.” One is also vividly reminded of Cheney on the floor of the Congress saying, as a liberal approached to shake his hand, “Go fuck yourself.” That this is a crime on those premises was glossed over by claiming the rule against vituperation applies only during session.
We must spot the sociopaths among us, stop them, and keep them isolated from society for everyone’s sake, or let them continue to pillage, loot, plunder, pollute, and slaughter until we are driven to extinction in a few short years, perhaps even in our own lifetimes. It’s that stark a choice.
