Not Ideas

it’s not your ideas
ideas are a dime a dozen and unimportant.
stop worrying about them.
they are for trick fiction, for toy wind up stories.
emphasizing or even noticing the “idea” is the most peurile skiffery imaginable.
focusing on ideas leads to genre’s extruded fiction product, not writing.
instead, just speak as clearly as you can what you really think and feel.
hand over the experience raw.
human experience is the core, not some clever idea
being original is overrated.
if you are simply yourself you are automatically unique and original
it’s all the learned crap that smooths out your good stuff the way a steam roller makes sure all toothpaste tubes are empty and flat.
novelty does not trump content
