Ex Nihilo, Ad Nihilo

Take their pleasures as they find them
Safe behind a numbered door
Take their measures as they’re given
Find their lovers on the floor

Consequence restores renewal
Contemplate aftereffect

Make their statues where they conquer
Waif will huddle in their shade
Shake their confidences loose
In time to crumble debts unpaid

Consequence deplores refusal
Compensate those lives they’ve wrecked

Fake their feelings when they need to
Pass as human out among
Rake their profits lying fallow
Mass times energy is wrong

Consequence for psychopaths
Consummates their dance of death
