Liars. Exploit someone else for a change and PAY WRITERS FOR THEIR WORK.
If you can’t afford to pay you are not a viable publication or editor. Stop pretending at the expense of writers. Stop devaluing and dismissing the single thing you need most for your publication to exist.
Exposure? To what, the crowds flocking to see the dupes on display? What a sucker’s bet. Especially today there is nothing easier than exposure. It’s call the internet. Don’t need to go through anyone to do it, either, if you PAY for ACCESS, A DEVICE, and so on. Ahem.
It takes a writer’s lifetime to write each poem, story, or novel. It takes each artist’s lifetime to create each piece of art. How dare you devalue that endless work and learning to indulge ego? You should be ashamed to dare ask for free writing or free anything.
