Kenneth Arnold’s original drawing showed these two shapes.
Then came William Rhodes’s photographs, showing this shape.
When Arnold saw those in a newspaper he said that was what he’d seen. Interestingly, Rhodes had his negatives and prints confiscated by a guy in military uniform bearing insignia of Colonel’s rank, accompanied by a guy in a dark civilian suit calling himself FBI, an organization that later denied all.
X-craft?
If so, since 1947 nothing about them ever surfaced. Seems unlikely, especially so when you look at all the cost and deaths involved in trying to equal the performance of these air and sea objects.
Then Newhouse filmed twelve objects in Utah, in July 1952. He was a USN officer and photographer. His film is clear, showing physical objects in a cluster moving fast across the sky. They pass behind steel electric towers at one point. Their speeds is calculated at several times what jets could then do.
Newhouse saw twelve, Arnold saw nine objects. Shiny metallic solid items moved at speeds, in ways, we could not match.
USN studies of the Newhouse film stated the objects were controlled. Four years later, swamp gas-huffing liars dismissed them as ‘birds’. Yes, highly reflective, high-altitude, supersonic birds, apparently.
Nothing to see here.
Many took this collapse into nonsense explanations as evidence of a covering up of X-craft, thus closing the dizzying loop.
From then ’til now, religionists of the fundamentalist stripe have sought to deny UFOs and all paranormal anomalies, to suppress investigation and even discussion of same, on the grounds that ‘they come from Satan and are demonic and if you think about them you conjure devils and curses.’
These crazies have tanked science and rationality using positions and money to strangle reasoned response. They shut down both UFO and Remote Viewing projects and routinely mock and sneer at any claims not sanctioned by their shallow, narrow, fearful view.
In Medieval times, use of, say, a camera obscura, or mirrors, or reflectors, to project images for painters to use in making their art were forbidden by the church on penalty of death. Artists had to keep such methods, techniques, and tools secret. The crazies called these helpful machines and approaches Infernal Devices, or Hell’s Machines, or Works of the Devil.
Madness from willful ignoramuses who held power also insisted art be theological in theme or it was labeled obscene.
This lunacy still obtains.
Multiple photographs from multiple photographers from multiple angles captured Chicago’s O’Hare Airport disc. It’s been shoved aside from serious consideration, labeled as a weather event despite such events having been impossible in the conditions then and there.
Nothing to see here.
Despite a transcript of air traffic controllers discussing the disc motionless over the C-17 hangar with ground crew and pilots, airport officials deny it ever happened. Pilots took pictures. Passengers and people in the terminal took pictures. The transcript exists.
In the transcript it’s mentioned that a pilot took a picture.
No one knew what it was. It did not show on radar because air traffic radar is calibrated to eliminate anything moving too slow, let alone standing still. This excludes birds, balloons, drones, and other potential clutter.
It was a disc seemingly twice the size of a football field hovering over a cargo warehouse for over an hour. It was seen by at least hundreds. It shot vertically up through a low cloud cover, leaving a stable tube through which blue sky could be seen. It lingered, stable, this tube, for another hour or so, and it, too, was photographed by many. Tremendous heat would be needed to make such a stable toroid vortex hole.
Note how wobbly language becomes in the absence of proper terms to describe these phenomena.
Note, too, how useless denial has become, even as it continues.
Religion, zealotry, blind faith, true belief alone can explain this obstinate stance of blanket denial of the obvious.
“Surely someone’s doing something,” people say. Investigation shows otherwise. Look how Putin’s tool has stood down all cyber defense while bellowing how strong America is. This in the face of undeniable, and unrelenting, even increased, interference with elections and anything else hacking can reach, now from many US enemies. All denied by the magats.
These traitors to the country and to reality itself, haters of fact, let such destruction happen as long as it upsets those they call ‘liberals’. Racism’s fine, seething hate speech is great, selling out to enemies for petty penny power profits is ‘how things work, boy’.
What’s this got to do with the current UFO situation?
Dismiss experts. Ignore MUFON, which sold out to Bigelow anyhow, and deny and defy the Pentagon, NASA, (Never A Straight Answer), and the FBI, (Far Beyond Insulting), as liars.
Survey the field on your own.
That’s all we can do.
Mistrust media, but know the mainstream media lies more intensely than the less-controlled fringe media.
In the original movie MEN IN BLACK, at one point Tommy Lee Jones explains to a gaping Will Smith that, for reality, best to scan a tabloid. Learn to filter past the crazy, which is just cover, and dig for the facts. Set aside editorial fun and games to glean nuggets of gold that hint at what’s really going on.
This is actually not just great satire but decent advice taken from the source, a graphic novel that embraced the goofy and the factual in equal measure.
Sick, sad world, as Daria Morgenstern said and will soon say again.
Absurdity and existential detachment help when it comes to inhabiting UFO World or attending the Paranormal Parade.
Is the Pentagon preparing to let us know First Contact happened long ago and the GOP sold Earth out long since for a handful of power profit beads?
I’d bet, rather, the sharpened circle Pentagon doesn’t know what it knows, being a silo-haunted compartmentalized, (emphasis on mental) cult of secrecy.
We live in a world of IFF – Identify Friend or Foe. Such signals confuse now. We don’t know what those words mean any longer.
If ever we did.
A brief dialogue between to EBENs to consider:
‘Shoot it, shoot it. Shoot it.’
‘Is that all they think?’
‘Yep. Dicks & guns.’
‘Then exterminating them would be a benefit to us all.’
‘Better yet, give them weapons, let them destroy themselves.’
