In 1955, ten years before her mysterious death, celebrity journalist Dorothy Kilgallen — now there’s an Irish drinking name, even though she was American and sober — heard a story while on vacation in Britain from a high-ranking military officer alleging the UK had recovered a crashed flying saucer and bodies in the Berwick Valley. She reported what she was told, beings about four feet tall for instance, but never followed up.
Ten years later she was working on a story to blow the lid off the JFK assassination, being the only journalist to have had private audience with Jack Ruby before cancer got him. Kilgallen also had files on Marilyn Monroe’s connection to the Kennedy boys, Jack and Bobby, which were published only in part, only after her death.
She was found overdosed on booze and barbiturates — akin to Monroe — in a bed on the top floor of her townhouse where she rarely slept. Hubby, on the ground floor, slept through, heard nothing. Signs of intrusion existed but were ignored by police, who immediately labeled her death suicide.
Everyone who knew her denied she’d ever been depressed or suicidal. They all swore she did not get drunk, nor use pills. Of course none of this mattered, but — her JFK files and some of the MM files vanished that night. It seems obvious she was killed to keep her quiet.
What information she had would’ve been published; she’d broken many big stories in her career. She was also a socialite, meaning she had many VIP links.
She was not the only socialite linked to the Kennedy boys and CIA officers who ended up murdered or suicided. Another was Mary Pinchot Meyer, a painter, wife of CIA officer Cord Meyer, lover of JFK, after divorcing Cord, a charming woman found shot dead on a canal towpath in Washington, DC in October of 1964.
Her diary was purloined by her brother-in-law, none other than Ben Bradlee, later editor of the Washington Post who gave Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein free reign to go after the Watergate/Nixon connections. He says he found the diary in her studio, which he helped search, knowing the diary contained political dynamite. He snagged it, handed it over to James Jesus Angleton, the Counter Espionage chief at CIA, whom he’d found had broken into Meyer’s studio just before Bradlee arrived, also desperate to find the diary. Why did Bradlee, later such a champion of free speech, hand it over so easily? He later testified it was because he considered it a family document and no one’s business. Except CIA’s, I suppose.
Angleton claimed to have burned it at CIA HQ. No word whether he chucked it into a burn bag or toasted marshmallows with a jolly little bonfire at his desk.
It didn’t pay to be a woman investigative reporter back then, nor a free spirit painter who apparently toked weed with JFK and maybe turned him on, dead man, to acid. Or vice versa.
That’s the claim. In the White House, no less.
Timothy Leary claimed Mary Meyer chem to him at Harvard to learn how to conduct LSD sessions. She told him she planned to “turn on” powerful men in DC to curb their war lust and male aggression.
When JFK was murdered, Leary received a call from a frightened, sobbing Mary Meyer, who told him, “They couldn’t control him any more. He was changing too fast … they’ve covered everything up.”
She was next on the hit list, too, apparently.
Leary’s claims are dismissed as an acid head’s delusions. He left himself open for such a charge but still, it’s interesting.
General open knowledge, the details of which remain unknown, can be dismissed easily. We see this in the more serious UFO investigators, an alarmingly high percentage of whom have collapsed into ruined lives and scrambled minds — drugs? — or have been suicided, at times multiple times, such as the guy found dead in a motel room, shot by two or three different guns, none of which being found at the death scene.
It’s dangerous on the fringe.
Now we’re seeing the nuts weaponized for stochastic terrorism by crazy conspiracy theories, (baseless charges of vote fraud being the latest craze), projections from the treasonous GOP, (need one mention voter fraud again, knowing the GOP can only seize power that way?), and theater staged to plant lies, (create mental markers), that can later be cited as “proof” that their lies are “true”. “Remember when THIS happened …?”
A good example of this kind of theater is when a contingent of GOP males pretending to be angry stormed into a bi-partisan meeting in the Senate, demanding the chair allow Republicants to participate in what they characterized as a Secret Democratic Cabal. Of course, there were Republicants sitting on the committee. The charges were baseless, empty, specious, and ridiculous — but the GOP knew that. They just staged this “intervention” so later they could call back to is, saying, “Remember when we had to crash a SECRET DEMOCRAT MEETING?” And their dupes will all nod because, yes, the whole idiotic charade made the news.
So they will lie about imaginary, cynical collusion and conspiracy.
It never happened except as theater but the magats will nod. Yep, they all remember the earlier false claim, sure. So it MUST all be true, that deep state Qanon cannibal pedophile ring of liberals Saint Don is saving us from.
Such a cynical call-back to staged lies is so criminal there ought to be a word for it. How about GOP-ing, since they’re pissing all over us?
2020 C.E. showed us clearly what we are: Half bigotry, fear, hate, greed, and fascist. If this clarity of vision fails to awaken direct action, not only America but the world is forfeit. It may be anyway, our best efforts being probably too little too late, if ever we’re allowed by the obstructionist reality-denying lying crazies to take our best actions toward saving ourselves.
When psychopaths with contempt for a rule of law, or any social restraint, rule via a bully obstructionist minority ploy, appeals to reason, law, and decency prompt in the psychos only smug sneering.
Only direct physical action to removed and isolate the psychopaths from society will help, by allowing actual human beings room to act together for the good of all.
Investigative journalism is no longer a threat when psychopaths have seized power, even if only the power to block, poison, and destroy. Exposing their crimes makes no difference. They don’t care and, since they block any move from rational people, won’t take action to stop of suicidal madness.
Arrests, prosecutions, and genuine hard punishments must be accomplished, up to and including the lame duck.
Re-establishing a rule of law, as the Nuremberg trials were intended to do after the first psychopath/Nazi debacle, is the only way to shed the treasonous nihilistic GOP cult of death and begin reforming a broken system to such things cannot take control anymore.
Election reform, eradicating gerrymandering, eliminating the antiquated electoral college, making direct democracy a fact, extending Election Day to a week at least and making it a holiday, ending the representative democracy scam, instituting recall and no-confidence votes to allow the breaking up of obstructionist Congresses, firing all partisan judges, administrators, and other cultists from all levels of government, taking away state rights to limit polling places, imposing a uniform federal election protocol under which all states must operate, removing governors’ right to appoint senators and congress members, making obstructionism a crime, on and on — far too much to do, in order to UN-do what the anti-democratic America-hating GOP has done.
Protecting National and State parks from industry, taking the property and assets of companies routinely violating EPA and other regulations, seizing property to pay back the monies stolen by malfeasance and from ignoring the Hatch Act, divesting from government contractors, particularly the monopolies, which must be broken up, et cetera.
Stop me before I list more.
All this takes political will, focus, and courage. It takes power, too. Blood must fly. Violence and looting, intimidation and death threats, all the GOP gangsterism must be met with decisive, appropriate force. Cancer does not cut itself out of the body politic. It must be physically removed. We need to shut down the far right and far left. Extremists must not be tolerated. We need to identify radicals to be watched and, if they cross legal lines, to be rounded up and tried for sedition. They must be put beyond society.
Once Trump is finally arrested, flees the country, or suicides, a clearing out of his cohorts and fellow grifters has to happen. Since he and the GOP are refusing to concede a fair election loss, since they pursue maneuvers intended to kill democracy and American processes, they demonstrate treason and are actively performing the actions of a coup. They are tempting a scorched-earth coup, in fact.
How long to we tolerate the General Services Administration withholding the transition-of-power paperwork and money? How long do we tolerate our duly-elected President being literally blocked from setting up his cabinet and creating his own administration?
Treason has been committed for the four long years of Putin’s Puppet, Moscow Mitch, and other fellow travelers who choose rubles over scruples. Now it has become blatant.
Half of us, minus about five million, are supportive of this coup, of the murder of democracy, of the defeat of the American experiment.
Ben Franklin is said to have answered a woman who asked what kind of government he and the Continental Congress had given the new America. He is said to have replied, “A Democracy, if you can keep it.”
Ben Franklin had more than an inkling that at least half the people can’t be trusted, and probably aren’t human beings in any but the most basic sense. Humanity requires compassion, empathy, and altruism, among other touchy-feely things. The GOP has systematically purged every Republicant who displayed any of those human traits, labeling them signs of weakness.
What we’re left with is a cult of lack of personality, an ideological cult of nihilism, a fearful, greedy, hateful, willfully-ignorant group that hates reality and wants to impose their Iron Dreams on us all, same as Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and so many other tyrannical lunatics.
How long are we humans going to put up with this as if it’s normal?
It’s not normal, no matter how hard the media normalize it.
How long will we let it destroy all we human beings hold dear?
